Yay! Our son has graduated to the size of a squash now that it’s my 29th week of pregnancy (and the start of my 7th month)! He will grow from 15.2 to 16.7 inches and 2.5 to 3.8 pounds this month. According to my email, his energy is surging and he’s growing fast now…his weight will triple by birth! That means there will be less room for him in my tummy and I’ll get to feel even more of the kicks and movement that I LOVE!
The past week has been filled with lots of baby happenings. I’ve been guzzling water to keep my fluid level up and stopped exercising (for the time being) since the doctor said I need to be resting more often. If things are normal at my appointment next Friday, hopefully I’ll feel confident enough to start working out again.
Our crib arrived late last week and we love it! We even managed to get a free crib mattress with it which was an added bonus. I’m glad we got everything early because it smells a little musty having just been unpackaged, but it will be aired out by the time our son arrives! Now we just need to find a dresser that matches closely, since there wasn’t a bedroom set for this crib. We finally managed to get to the store on Sunday to register too. It was exciting and exhausting, and we still have some research to do on a few items, but we had a great time with Phil’s sister, Becki, who guided us through the process!!!
In the coming weeks we will be starting up our house projects again in preparation for our son’s arrival and for baby showers that will be hosted at our house. We’ve got a lot to do…wish us luck!!!
Oh yeah, did I mention I’ve gained 18 lbs so far! I wasn’t too worried about it since I knew you were supposed to have low weight gain early on and higher weight gain toward the end of pregnancy. But my doctor recently said I should set a goal for a total of 25 lbs!!! That’s only 7 more pounds in the next 11 weeks! Grrr…I didn’t gain a single pound until the end of my first trimester. Then at my 20-week appointment I had gained 10 lbs, by my 28th week I gained a 8 lbs more…and now I’m limited to 7 lbs until our son arrives?!. I don’t know about that…
Hey! 25 lbs is usually recommended for woman who are overweight which OBVIOUSLY you are NOT NOT NOT!!!! As long as you are eating healthy do not pay attention to that DR or the scale!! The baby will be gaining 1/2 a pound a week toward the end!!
ReplyDeleteDon't stress about the weight! I set a goal of no more than 30 lbs for both my pregnancies... Julia came in at 26 and Coraline came in at a whopping 40! The GREAT news about breastfeding is that it mobilizes your lipid- fast! I lost all my Cora weight in 3 months.
