33 Week Old Melon

Exciting times! Rock has graduated to a honeydew melon now that I’m 33 weeks pregnant (which is the 8th month already)!!! He should grow from 17.2 to 18.7 inches and 4.2 to 5.8 pounds this month. Evidently his brain is developing quickly now and his bones are still hardening.

After the 8th month (honeydew), there’s only one more fruit to go…WATERMELON! Yikes!!! And realizing that the doctor won’t let me go past 39 weeks, means our son will be here within the next 6 weeks!!! (Phil and I theorize that he’ll be here in October, but only God knows His true intentions for Rock.)

The past week has been wonderful. Phil and I were blessed by our first baby shower with close relatives and wonderful friends. Some (very dedicated) ladies even drove 5 hours each way to come! We were thrilled to get to see everyone and the gifts were an amazing added bonus. Phil was SO excited to come home and see all of the Bronco gear for Rock and I was overjoyed by the love that was shown by each person (sentimental gifts, handmade blankets, useful and adorable necessities)…what a day! The only unexpected result of the shower was how exhausted I was. I stayed in my pajamas the entire day on Sunday until we went to the pool that night!

I’ve had an enjoyable time at the pool every night for 40 minute soaking sessions (doctor’s orders!) with Phil or my mom. It took a few nights before I adjusted to simply relaxing in the water but now find it rather revitalizing.

Rock also had a great doctor appointment on Tuesday. The doctor said they like to see two heart rate accelerations in 20 minutes for the non-stress test and our son had 12! My tummy also measured at 32 cm and I was 32 weeks pregnant at that point, so it was perfect too!

Lastly, today was our specialist appointment and the doctor said Rock passed all of the healthy criteria (good activity, good blood flow, etc), even though my fluid remained at 6 AFI. We will go back next Thursday (again).
