196 Days left. I’m in no rush though. I haven’t felt ill or too uncomfortable, mainly just tired and hungry all the time.
It’s only been 1 week and 1 day since my last post, but a LOT has happened. My doctor appointment on Friday went perfect. I got weighed and haven’t gained one pound yet. The doctor said that was a good thing. They were able to hear the baby’s heartbeat with their Doppler machine even though I was only 11 weeks pregnant. The heartbeat was 180 bpm (which seemed high to me, but the doctor wasn't concerned). The doctor said there is less than 1% chance of miscarriage from this point forward, which is what we were waiting to hear before we started telling extended family and friends our secret.
We managed to take my grandma Joy to lunch and gave her a framed photo of the ultrasound picture...she was SO excited and we got the entire thing on video!!! We had lunch in Colorado Springs with Phil's entire Rupprecht side of the family on Sunday and got to show them the video Jim made. They were thrilled! That night we sent an email with the video link to extended family who we couldn't tell in person. And the next day, on Monday, I announced to my work at a company meeting with every employee present! It was so much fun!!! Now we just need to tell our wonderful friends...we gave Mike Henshaw (our Sunday school teacher) a copy of the video and hope he can play it during our final class on May 16th! Only 1.5 more weeks of secrets...yay!!! The baby is the size of a plum now at 12 weeks.
